      INTRODUCTION

This blog will provide you with information on those pages and/or digital tools that will help you learn basic and intermediate English in a dynamic and intuitive way.

The applications that we will use for the analysis and blog reviews will be: Duolingo, English Central and Open English. These applications bring a simple and dynamic management mode

 DUOLINGO

Duolingo is the perfect tool when it comes to learning languages. His philosophy is based on the fact that language learning should be something 100% free, without barriers, but that at the same time a community is created, each one contributing something. It is a philosophy based on win-win. It was founded by Luis von Ahn, who is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and who went on to sell two companies to Google, and by Severin Hacker, who after graduating in Computer Science from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich obtained his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.

 
                                        METHODOLOGY

When it comes time to start learning a language with Duolingo, you can start from scratch or take an assessment test in case you can exonerate (free yourself from studying) from lessons. Once you have started, you will progress through levels that you will have to overcome. These units are organized by theme. For example, in level 3 of English, you will have to work on a small intro, greetings, trips, Restaurant and People1.

Only once they are overcome will you be able to access other units of a higher level. Among the exercises that are worked on are the translation of sentences in both directions, the repetition of sentences to evaluate our pronunciation and the transcription of what we have heard to see if we understand what is being said to us.

As we go through levels, Duolingo keeps track of your activity. Not only does it measure your level of fluency in the language, but it also indicates the goals that you must meet on a daily basis and motivates you so that your illusion does not falter. It also has the possibility of sharing the progress that you are making on your social networks. 1) Watch the video

2) Learn the words (learn the vocabulary)

3) Speak the video (talk the video) And you can add additional vocabulary exercises, specific skills in english etc.

1) Watch the video You listen to each video as many times as you want. This improves your understanding. As you listen, you can click on any word or expression that is not understand to know more about the word or expression. For example, you will see a definition of the word, an example with the word, what kind of word it is, you can rehear the word several times, etc.

This is how you learn new words and expressions in context. You can also listen with or without English subtitles, and in many cases with or without Spanish subtitles, if you want more support. (To remove subtitles or view with subtitles in Spanish you can select or deselect at the bottom right «CC» of the video while watching the video.)
